Jeez - I measured my 1965 Plymouth Barracuda steering column and from the top of the "sleeve" to the tip of the shaft is just under 38". If I were to use a 32" (most common) or a 35" steering column would i have to use an intermediate shaft to reach my gear?

ok, im working on my own wiring, its not an Ididit but its a gm style column just as well and so far the wires match . what im trying to find which you dont show either is a backup light switch wire. i would think itd be within the column wires so itd work when you shift into reverse. what am i missing ??

Ididit is a good product but I was charged over $72 for a simple horn kit that consisted of a plate, spring, pin and ring that I can’t use because it’s too thick.

Looks like it will only work with a floor shift Falcon.

Lose the music, and some close ups on important things like crimping the wires (how the crimp should look and what number to crimp with) would make for a great video. Still very helpful though.

I’m trying to do this now on my 65 GMC. The tip of the shift lever broke off and the spring was old and bent up. Got the spring and the broken tip out with a magnet and I have ordered a new spring and lever. Hopefully, I can reassemble this without taking the column out.

I recently bought an ididit steering column along with an electrical adapter to connect to my original wiring.When I installed the new column I noticed there was hardly any wiring coming out to the plug that came along with the column.As I hooked up my wiring it was so short that it had pulled my wiring backwards away from the column to the side where my factory plug in is located and wasn't to overly concerned at the time.now it's only been about 1 month and my turn signals aren't working anymore and when I have the turn signal on and tilt my column I can hear what sounds to be electrical wiring arching or frying.Either way this is an issue that needs to be resolved by the ididit corporation.I recommend at least 3-4 more inches of wiring and make sure the wiring is secured within the column itself

Instead of saying in every video that this column is a direct fit, you should say up front that this column is bigger in diameter then the factory one and you will need a horn kit for a extra $100

My comments has nothing to do with the vid above. He did a wonderful job explaining the steps. The part I missed for whatever is when you put the floral wire on the new switch to pull through, don't forget to tuck the end portion. My wire kept slipping through. I had to woosah and watch the vid again to see where I went wrong. Once that was done I had the wire through in 5 minutes. Venting done and thanks for the vid.
